GPS: highly evaluated by trainees, external examiners and Ofsted; a strength of our course. Nationally, coherence is an issue. Working towards developing strong links between the generic and subject-specific components of the course both within the university and in schools. GPS task 1) How would you describe the connections/links between the professional studies programme and the subject training

programme(s) in your school? 2) What do you currently do to connect/link the professional studies programme and the subject training programme(s) in your school? 3) Could you do more and, if so, what? 4) Who should be responsible for making these connections/links and, if so, what could they be asked to do?
